The Suncor Firebag Project

Proline supplied approximately 11,000 PipeSak™, pipeline bag weights, to Midwest General Contractors last winter. The Suncor Firebag project, located just north of Fort McMurray, Alberta, involved pipeline construction with 22", 12" and 8" pipe. The PipeSak™ weights were needed to keep the pipe in the ground through areas with a high groundwater table, common in areas with muskeg. PipeSak weights can last in any ground conditions and withstand very rough handling prior to and during installation. For more on PipeSak.

New Product guaranteed to protect buried pipe from corrosion of girthwelds

Proline has recently become a major distributor of Covalence Raychem Shrink Sleeves which are heat shrinkable wrap-around sleeves for pipelines. These sleeves are specially designed for corrosion protection of girthwelds on buried pipelines. They have a radiation-crosslinked polyethylene modified backing coated with a specially formulated mastic sealant. Covalence Raychem Shrink Sleeves resist abrasion, impact and penetration. They also resist hydrostatic pressure and are compatible with all standard pipe coatings and outer jackets. Proline carries Covalence Raychem Shrink Sleeves for pipe diameters of 2" through 12".
