The
PROLINE Pipe End Facing Machine cuts precision bevels on pipe ends
to prepare the pipe joint for welding. The machine is hydraulically
driven and cuts thin or heavy wall pipe to any desired bevel. It
uses a positive gear driven feed in order to produce perfect bevels
and or counter bores with any bevel arrangement. Power sources can
be supplied in diesel or electric over hydraulic to run the end
preparation machine.

The PROLINE Pipe End Facing Machine consists of
three major components, the expander section, the rotary cutting
head and the power unit.
The Expander Section is made up
of two interconnected expander units utilizing a hydraulic cylinder
for the expansion and retraction strokes. When expanded, the expansion
shoes lock the machine into the pipe and bring the pipe into roundness
for the bevelling process. The number of expander shoes per section
vary on the size of the machine.
The Rotary Cutting Head is a gear
driven cutter wheel with the tool holders attached to it. The rotary
cutting head is moved towards the pipe to create an accurate bevel.
A hydraulic motor rotates the cutting head via a pinion and ring
gear. The tool holding assemblies consist of three major assemblies
per holder. They are the tool following wheel, the tool assembly
and a tool actuating spring.
The Power Unit is an external
power source which provides power to the end prep machine. This
source can be provided in diesel or electric over hydraulic.
